Ukrainian authorities reported that at least three people were killed during a new wave of Russian attacks that struck multiple regions of the country late Monday night, once again impacting civilian areas. In the southern port city of Odesa, a 35-year-old man lost his life after an attack hit residential zones. The strike triggered fires and caused significant damage to nearby infrastructure.
Local officials described the assault on Odesa as massive, with emergency crews working for hours to contain multiple blazes and secure affected neighborhoods. At the same time, the northeastern region of Kharkiv was also targeted by drone attacks. Emergency services later recovered the bodies of a woman and a ten-year-old child from the rubble of damaged buildings. Authorities in Kharkiv confirmed that the drones struck civilian housing, leaving behind scenes of destruction and fear as residents sought shelter during the night. In addition to the fatalities, at least five people were reported injured across the two regions.
Several of the wounded required urgent medical treatment following the attacks. Ukrainian military officials stated that the strikes involved Iranian-made drones, which ignited fires and damaged a gas pipeline as well as other critical infrastructure. Emergency responders continued operations into the early morning hours, extinguishing fires, clearing debris, and assessing the full extent of the destruction.
Local administrations emphasized that the attacks were directed at civilian areas, further deepening the humanitarian toll of the conflict. As rescue and recovery efforts continue, the events in Odesa and Kharkiv once again highlight the human cost of the war, with civilians bearing the consequences far from active front lines.
