In Nigeria, armed attackers have killed more than 30 people in recent days. In total, there were attacks in three locations between Friday and Sunday. Initially, the motive for the attacks was unclear. At least 20 people were killed Sunday in a village in Benue state, local government chairman Ormin Torsar Victor said Monday.
More than ten more people were killed in another village. "Coordinated attacks" by cattle ranchers Victor suspected these were "coordinated attacks" by cattle ranchers. In central Nigeria, violent clashes have occurred repeatedly between herders and farmers.
In early April, more than 100 people were killed there. Many of the nomadic herders belong to the Muslim Fulani ethnic group, while many of the settled farmers are Christian.
